JPG to PDF combines one or more images into a single PDF document, one image per page. It's the quickest way to turn phone photos of paperwork into a file you can email, submit receipts as one attachment, or share a set of scans in a format everyone can open. It works with JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP images, and everything happens in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded.
How to convert JPG to PDF
- Drop your images onto the tool, or click Choose files and select them.
- Put them in order with the arrow buttons. Each image becomes one page, in this order.
- Choose a page size: A4, Letter, or Fit image to make each page exactly the size of its image.
- Choose the orientation and a margin if you want white space around each image.
- Click Convert to PDF.
- Click Download PDF.
Choosing page size, orientation and margins
Page size
- A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the standard paper size in most of the world.
- Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) is the standard in the United States and Canada.
- Fit image makes each page exactly as big as its image, with no white borders. Pages are sized at 96 pixels per inch, so a 1920 × 1080 image becomes a 20 × 11.25 inch page. Choose this for screenshots, slides and artwork you won't print.
On A4 and Letter pages, each image is scaled to fit inside the page, keeping its proportions, and centred.
Orientation
- Auto makes a landscape page for wide images and a portrait page for tall ones. That suits a mix of photos best.
- Portrait and Landscape force every page the same way, which looks tidier when the PDF will be printed.
Margin
- None fills the page as far as the image's proportions allow.
- 10 mm or 20 mm adds a white border. Choose a margin if the PDF will be printed, since most printers can't print to the very edge of the paper.
Image quality and file size
JPG photos that are already upright are placed into the PDF exactly as they are, byte for byte, without re-compression. The PDF is roughly the same size as your photos added together, and there's no loss in quality.
Other images are handled like this:
- PNG images are added without any loss, including transparent areas.
- Photos taken on a phone held sideways are stored rotated with a note saying which way is up. The tool redraws them upright first so they don't appear sideways in the PDF. This step saves them as high-quality JPG.
- WebP, GIF and BMP images are converted first, to PNG if they have transparency and to JPG otherwise. For animated GIFs, only the first frame is used.
If the PDF is too large to email, resize the photos before converting with the image resizer or image compressor. A phone photo is often 3 to 5 MB, and a 1600-pixel-wide copy is plenty for a readable document page.
Limitations
- HEIC photos (the iPhone's default format) can't be opened by most browsers. On an iPhone, the photo picker usually converts them to JPG automatically when you choose them here. If it doesn't, set Camera > Formats to Most Compatible, or share the photos as JPG.
- Text in photos isn't searchable. The PDF holds pictures of your pages, so you can't select or search the text. Making text searchable requires OCR (optical character recognition), which this tool doesn't do.
- Very large batches, such as hundreds of full-resolution photos, work best on a computer, because everything is processed in your browser's memory.
