PDF to JPG turns the pages of a PDF into image files. Use it to post a flyer on social media, drop a slide into a presentation, attach a page to a form that only accepts images, or preview a document on a device without a PDF reader. You can convert every page or just the ones you pick, as JPG or PNG, at up to 300 DPI. The conversion runs in your browser and the PDF is never uploaded.
How to convert PDF to JPG
- Drop your PDF onto the tool or click Choose file.
- Choose the image format: JPG for smaller files, or PNG for the sharpest text.
- Choose the resolution: 72, 150 or 300 DPI.
- Keep All pages, or choose Choose and click the pages you want, or type them, for example

Which resolution should I choose?
DPI (dots per inch) decides how many pixels each page gets. Higher DPI means sharper images but larger files. For a standard page, the result is:

150 DPI is the best default for most uses. Choose 300 DPI if the image will be printed, or if the page has small print that must stay readable when zoomed.
Very large pages, such as posters and engineering drawings, may be rendered at a lower resolution than you choose. Browsers limit how big a single image can be, and the tool tells you when this happens.
JPG or PNG?
- JPG files are much smaller and look good for photos, scanned pages and colourful designs. They use slight compression, which can leave faint smudges around sharp black text if you zoom right in.
- PNG files are lossless: text and line drawings stay perfectly crisp. They are larger, often several times the size of a JPG of the same page.
If you're unsure, use JPG for scans and photos, and PNG for text-heavy pages, diagrams and screenshots.
How the pages are rendered
The tool uses PDF.js, the PDF engine built into Firefox, to draw each page exactly as a PDF reader would display it, including text, vector graphics, images and annotations. Transparent areas are filled with white, since JPG has no transparency.
The output is a picture of the page, so the text in it is no longer text. You can't select, search or copy it. To keep the pages as a real PDF, with only some of them, use Split PDF instead.
Limitations
- Password-protected PDFs can't be opened. Save an unprotected copy in your PDF reader first.
- Fonts that aren't embedded in the PDF are replaced with similar-looking fonts, as in any PDF viewer. Most PDFs embed their fonts, so this is rarely visible.
- Long documents at 300 DPI take time and memory. Converting hundreds of pages at 300 DPI works best on a computer. If a phone struggles, choose 150 DPI or convert fewer pages at a time.

This tool saves whole pages as images, including text and backgrounds. It doesn't extract the embedded photos as separate files. For a photo that fills a page, converting at 300 DPI gives a result close to the original.
