Rotate PDF

Rotate one page or the whole PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees, preview every page and save the rotation permanently. Free, private and no upload.

Drop the PDF you want to rotate

Turn pages 90, 180 or 270 degrees and save the change permanently.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Rotate PDF turns sideways or upside-down pages the right way up and saves the change in the file. You can rotate the whole document, a handful of selected pages, or one page at a time, with a live preview before you download. The pages are not redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable and images keep their original quality. Everything happens in your browser and the file is never uploaded.

How to rotate a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF onto the tool or click Choose file.
  2. To turn the whole document, click Rotate all left or Rotate all right. Each click turns every page by 90 degrees.
  3. To rotate only some pages, click those pages to select them, then use Rotate selected left or Rotate selected right.
  4. For a single page, use the small left and right arrows under its thumbnail.
  5. Click Save PDF, then Download PDF.

The preview updates as you work, and the angle under each page shows how much extra rotation will be saved. Reset puts every page back to its original rotation.

Rotate all pages or only the ones you need

A scanned document often mixes orientations: a landscape chart is stored in a portrait file, or one page was fed into the scanner upside down. Rotating all pages is the quick fix when the whole document is sideways. Selected rotation is better when only one section needs help.

The tool adds rotation on top of whatever rotation the page already has. If a page is already turned 90 degrees in the file, clicking right once makes it 180 degrees in the saved PDF. The preview always shows the result, so you can check before saving.

A permanent rotation, not just a tilted view

Most PDF readers have a rotate button that only changes how the page looks on your screen. Close the file and open it again, and the page is sideways once more. This tool writes the rotation into the PDF's page settings, so:

  • The page opens the right way up in every PDF reader.
  • The rotation is kept when the file is emailed, printed or uploaded elsewhere.
  • Phone viewers and browser previews show the same result.

The original file on your computer is not modified. You download a new copy with the rotation saved.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. A PDF page has a rotation value that tells the reader which way to display it. The tool changes that value instead of redrawing the page. As a result:

  • Text stays sharp and selectable.
  • Images are not re-compressed.
  • Page content is not cropped or resized.
  • The file usually stays about the same size.

Rotating by 90 or 270 degrees changes the page from portrait to landscape on screen, but the page itself is unchanged. Rotating by 180 degrees turns it upside down and back again.

What this tool can't fix

Rotation works in 90-degree steps, which covers sideways and upside-down pages. It does not straighten a scan that is only slightly crooked. A page that is two or three degrees off needs deskewing, which is a different operation and usually part of a scanning app or an image editor.

If a page is the wrong shape because it was scanned with the wrong paper size, rotation won't change its dimensions. Crop the page first, or rescan it with the correct settings.

Common reasons to rotate a PDF

  • A phone scan saved a portrait document as landscape.
  • One page was fed into the scanner upside down.
  • A landscape spreadsheet or chart is stored sideways in a report.
  • A signed page was scanned in the wrong orientation.
  • A PDF looks right in one viewer but sideways in another because the rotation was never saved.

Password-protected PDFs

The tool can't open an encrypted PDF. Open it in your PDF reader, enter the password and save a copy without protection. Then rotate that copy. If the file only has a permissions password that blocks editing, the same workaround applies.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened, previewed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is sent to Lembog or any other server, and the file is never stored. That makes the tool suitable for contracts, IDs, medical records and other private documents.

Rotate PDF FAQ

How do I rotate a PDF permanently?

Rotate the pages here and click Save PDF. The rotation is written into the downloaded file, so it stays rotated in every PDF reader and on every device.

How do I rotate only one page?

Click the left or right arrow under that page's thumbnail until it looks right, then save. Only that page changes; the rest of the document keeps its original rotation.

Can I rotate a PDF by 180 degrees?

Yes. Click Rotate all right twice, or the page's right arrow twice. Four clicks bring a page back to its original orientation.

Does rotating a PDF reduce quality?

No. The tool changes the page's rotation setting rather than re-rendering it, so text and images are untouched.

Why does my PDF still open sideways after rotating?

You may have used a viewer's temporary rotate button without saving the file. Rotate the PDF here and download the saved copy; that rotation is permanent.

Can I rotate a scanned PDF?

Yes. Scanned pages rotate the same way as any other page. The tool only turns the page in 90-degree steps; it can't straighten a slightly crooked scan.

Is the PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The document is never uploaded, stored or shared.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. You can rotate pages and save the result on a mobile browser. For a document with many pages, a computer makes it easier to check every preview.
