Remove Pages from PDF deletes the pages you don't need and gives you a clean copy of the rest. Blank scans, duplicate pages, outdated cover sheets and pages you don't want to send can all go in a few clicks. You can mark pages one by one or type a range, and the pages you keep are copied exactly as they were. The whole job runs in your browser, so the document is never uploaded.
How to remove pages from a PDF
- Drop your PDF onto the tool, or click Choose file and select it.
- Click each page you want to delete. A red cross marks it for removal. You can also type the pages in the Pages to remove box.
- Check the live summary: it tells you how many pages will be removed and how many will be kept.
- Click Remove N pages.
- Click Download PDF to save the new copy.
Only the downloaded copy changes. The PDF on your computer stays exactly as it was, so you can start again whenever you like.
Removing one page, a range, or several ranges
The page box accepts single pages and ranges separated by commas. Page numbers start at 1.
| You type | Pages removed |
|---|---|
4 | Page 4 only |
2-6 | Pages 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 |
1-3, 8, 10-12 | Pages 1 to 3, page 8, and pages 10 to 12 |
-5 | The first five pages |
9- | Page 9 to the last page |
You don't have to use the box. Clicking a thumbnail is often quicker for a few scattered pages, and the box updates to show your selection. The Invert button flips the selection, which is handy when most pages should go and only a few should stay. Clear removes the whole selection without changing the file.
If you want to keep only a handful of pages, there are two ways to do it:
- Select every page with Select all, then click the pages you want to keep to unmark them.
- Use Extract Pages from PDF instead, where you pick the pages to keep directly.
What happens to the pages you keep
The remaining pages are copied into a new PDF, not re-rendered or re-printed. That means:
- Text stays sharp and selectable. Search, highlighting and copy-paste still work.
- Images keep their original quality. Nothing is re-compressed.
- Page sizes and orientation are preserved. A landscape chart and a portrait letter can sit in the same document, each at its own size.
- Links inside the kept pages keep working.
A few document-level extras don't carry into the new file:
- Bookmarks (the outline in a PDF reader's sidebar).
- Fillable form fields, which may stop being editable.
- Accessibility tags used by screen readers.
- Links that jump to a page you removed.
For scans, invoices, reports and most everyday documents, none of this matters. For a long report that relies on bookmarks, check the result before you send it.
Removing pages vs. hiding content
Removing a page takes that page out of the new file. Drawing a black box over text, or deleting the visible text in an editor, does not always remove the text underneath. If you are preparing a document for someone else and the page contains private information, remove the page rather than covering it up. A proper redaction tool is the safer choice when only part of a page needs to disappear.
Removing pages can also make the file smaller, but not always by as much as you expect. Fonts, logos and images that are shared with the pages you kept still have to be stored once in the new PDF.
Common reasons to remove pages
- Blank or mis-scanned pages at the start or end of a scan.
- Duplicate pages created by a scanner or an export.
- Cover sheets and fax headers that aren't needed by the recipient.
- Outdated price lists or terms in a proposal.
- Pages with personal information before sending a document to someone else.
- A very long appendix when only the main report is needed.
Password-protected PDFs
The tool can't open an encrypted PDF. Open it in your PDF reader, enter the password, and save a copy without protection. Then remove pages from that copy. The same applies when a file has a permissions password that allows viewing but blocks editing or copying.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is opened, previewed and rewritten by your own browser. Nothing is sent to Lembog or any other server, and the file is never stored. That makes it suitable for contracts, medical letters, bank statements and other private documents.

Remove Pages from PDF FAQ
How do I delete a page from a PDF for free?
Open the PDF here, click the page you want to delete, and click Remove 1 page. The new PDF downloads without that page. There is no signup, watermark or page limit.
How do I remove several pages at once?
Click every page you want to remove, or type their numbers in the page box, for example 2-5, 9, 12-. The button shows the number of pages that will be removed before you run it.
Can I remove the first or last page?
Yes. Click the first or last thumbnail, or type 1 or the last page number. You can also type -3 to remove the first three pages or 8- to remove everything from page 8 to the end.
Will removing pages reduce the file size?
Usually, yes, because the removed pages are no longer stored in the new file. The saving can be smaller than expected when the kept pages share fonts or images with the removed ones, since those resources still need to be included once.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scanned pages are treated like any other page and are copied at their original resolution. The tool does not run OCR, so text in a scan stays an image.
Can I undo after downloading?
The original PDF is never modified, so you can open it again and make a different selection. The downloaded copy is a separate file; to change it, run the new copy through the tool again.
Is the PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser. The file is never uploaded, stored or shared.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The page picker works in mobile browsers. For a document with hundreds of pages, a computer is more comfortable because every page is shown as a thumbnail.
